How to use Nectar

Post-shower is the best time to use.

"Apply on damp skin the moment you step out of the shower. That is when it works best, the water on your skin helps it spread and absorb."

  • 1

    Shower as normal

Cleanse as usual. When you are done do not fully dry off, pat lightly with your towel to remove excess water but leave your skin slightly damp. That residual moisture is what Nectar seals in.

  • 2

Pump 2 to 4 times into your palms

Start with 2 pumps and add more if needed. Rub your palms together to warm the oil, it spreads more evenly and absorbs faster when warm. Adjust the amount based on how much skin you are covering and how dry your skin feels that day.

More pumps for legs and body · 1 to 2 for arms and décolletage
  • 3

    Massage in with upward strokes

Work from feet upward, calves, thighs, hips, stomach, arms, and décolletage. Use long upward strokes with firm pressure. This direction supports lymphatic drainage and helps absorption. Spend a little extra time on dry areas like shins, elbows, and knees.

    Upward strokes support lymphatic drainage

    Let it absorb before dressing

Give it 2 to 3 minutes before getting dressed. Nectar is fast absorbing but a few minutes ensures it has fully sunk in so it does not transfer to clothing. Use that time to do your hair or skincare routine.

Pairs beautifully with Nourish — apply lotion first then Nectar to seal

Common Questions

Not if you give it 2 to 3 minutes to absorb before dressing. Tsubaki oil is the base of this formula and it is specifically chosen for its ability to absorb quickly without leaving residue, it is what makes Nectar feel luxurious rather than slippery. Apply on damp skin, massage in thoroughly, and let it sink in while you do your hair or skincare and you will not have any transfer issues.
Nectar is formulated as a body oil, the oils are all skin-compatible but the this formula are not recommended for facial use as they can cause photosensitivity on the face. For your face we recommend Renew or Glow from the SSB facial line. Nectar is perfect for everything from the neck down.
Nourish is a water-based lotion that delivers active hydration — niacinamide, tremella, panthenol, and aloe absorb into the skin to hydrate from within. Nectar is an oil that seals and nourishes from without, it locks in whatever moisture is already there and adds a layer of botanical oil nourishment on top. Used together Nourish goes on first while skin is damp, then Nectar seals it all in. Used alone either works beautifully. Nourish for lighter daily hydration, Nectar for a richer more sensory experience.
The formula contains citrus essential oils. Citrus oils are generally considered safe during pregnancy in topical use at low concentrations but some practitioners advise caution. Always check with your provider before adding anything new during pregnancy. The base oils, baobab, tsubaki, rosehip, and squalane are all considered pregnancy safe.
With daily full body use at 3 to 4 pumps you can expect a 100ml bottle to last approximately 4 to 6 weeks. If you use it more sparingly just on arms and décolletage or a few times a week, it will last considerably longer.
Nectar is formulated with non-comedogenic oils, squalane and tsubaki in particular are well known for being pore-friendly and barrier first body care. Body skin also has larger and fewer pores than facial skin so comedogenicity is rarely an issue. If you have very acne-prone body skin patch test first on a small area and see how your skin responds before applying all over.
